MAGIC OVERVIEW
MAGIC, The State of the Arts- is a successful fourteen-year-old
program providing integrated classroom activities relating to Social
Studies, English, Math, Science, Music, Art, and Technology and
correlated to Virginia's SOL's. MAGIC makes learning fun
and increases SOL scores.
There
are Two Components to MAGIC :
LEARNING TO THE BEAT

Innovative, flexible and easy to use tools and lesson
plans that merges art, music, and technology for K-8 students
and are aligned to VA's SOLs.

THE LIVE CANVAS
The Live
Canvas - Concerts that bring students and families together to
be entertained by the creation of a Live Canvas that is produced
from the students' inspired use of the Learning to the Beat
tools.
MAGIC
provides its innovative program, including the music and lesson
plans (correlated the Virginia's Standards of Learning), free
to schools and after-school programs. MAGIC also showcases
student talent as a family concert called the LIVE CANVAS. MAGIC
won the first place award for excellence in public broadcasting
in programming and services from the National Educational Telecommunications
Association (NETA) Conference in 2001.
